Christopher "Kid" Reid—one half of the legendary 90s hip-hop duo Kid 'N Play—recently survived a life-threatening battle with congestive heart failure that culminated in a successful heart transplant surgery. After dismissing early warning signs like severe fatigue and shortness of breath as just "getting older," Reid was rushed to the ICU when doctors discovered his heart failure was actively causing his other organs to shut down. He was placed on a high-priority transplant list and received a matching heart just eight days later.
Now fully recovered with a "new vibration," he is back on his feet, planning new tour dates, a comedy special, and a memoir titled Heart of the Matter.
